The package holds twenty turned metal barrels of 102 mm caliber in 1:700 scale. The set is conceived as a universal one, that is not for a single particular ship but as a stock of barrels usable across models of the Royal Navy. It is not a kit but a detail accessory. It is made by the Polish brand Aber.
Guns of 102 mm caliber were among the most widespread British naval armament of the twentieth century. They turned up as the main armament of escort ships and destroyers and as a dual-purpose and anti-aircraft battery on cruisers, battleships and aircraft carriers. That is exactly why a collection of models uses up a lot of such barrels, and a package of twenty pieces makes practical sense — it will usually do for several models or cover the whole battery of a larger unit.
A universal set means that you have to check beforehand whether the shape of the barrel matches your particular subject and version of the gun. Cut off the plastic barrel, level the surface and drill a hole for the pin on the metal part. On parts this small, work over a mat with a raised rim so that a barrel that springs away does not get lost. Glue with the smallest amount of cyanoacrylate glue, applied with a pin. Degrease the brass with alcohol before painting and go over it with a primer for metal.
This is an accessory set for models, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
