Aber 1:700 – a set of 8 turned metal barrels of 380 mm caliber for models of the ships Bismarck and Tirpitz replaces the plastic barrels of the main battery.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for building plastic models in 1:700 scale, not a standalone model. The set holds eight turned metal barrels of 380 mm caliber, that is the complete main armament of the German battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz (four twin turrets). It is made by the Polish brand Aber.
The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from the kit. The visible parting seam and the coarseness of molded plastic are gone; the muzzle is clean and on the axis. On a weapon as prominent as a 380 mm gun the difference is plain at first glance.
Cut off the plastic barrel, drill a hole in the remaining part of the turret and glue the metal barrel in with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before any coat goes on and use a base coat.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of a ship. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
