Plastic kit of the SMS Derfflinger 1916 in 1:700 scale from Takom: a German battlecruiser of the First World War in the full hull version.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German battlecruiser SMS Derfflinger as she appeared in 1916, in 1:700 scale from Takom. The model can be built as a full hull or as a waterline version. The set contains photo-etched parts and decals for one marking option. Derfflinger was the first unit of the German battlecruiser class of the same name.
Derfflinger entered service in 1914 and ranked among the best battlecruisers of her day, combining heavy armament with sound armor. She took part in the Battle of Jutland in 1916, where she took a number of hits yet fought her way back to port; the British nicknamed her the Iron Dog for her toughness. After the war she was interned and in 1919 scuttled by her own crew at Scapa Flow.
Decide in advance whether you want the full hull or the waterline version. Use thin cement on the plastic and glue the fine photo-etched railings with cyanoacrylate after spraying. German ships of the First World War carried gray finishes; bring out the panel lines with a wash and dry-brush the edges carefully.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
