An add-on detail set from FineMolds in 1:700 scale. It holds fine castings of torpedo tube mounts, which replace the simplified plastic parts from ordinary kits and raise the realism of the armament of a warship model. It is not a stand-alone ship model but an accessory.
Torpedo tube mounts were among the key armament of destroyers and light cruisers. The trainable multiple mounts launched torpedoes against surface targets and were placed on the deck between the superstructures. The Imperial Japanese Navy was well known for its torpedo weapons and tactics in the Second World War.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Once glued, the mounts are usually fixed in place, so decide on their position and training in advance. We recommend a primer and painting with an airbrush.
This is an add-on armament set, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
