1:700 USS Arizona BB-39 1941 is a kit of the American battleship USS Arizona in her 1941 state, in 1:700 scale from ROP o.s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the American battleship USS Arizona with the hull designation BB-39 in her configuration of 1941. The 1:700 scale is the most widespread one for ship models, so the finished model can be placed beside other ships of the same scale and their sizes compared. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The USS Arizona belonged to the battleships of the Pennsylvania class. Her main armament consisted of 356 mm caliber guns distributed in four turrets, two forward and two aft, with the turrets on the second level set higher. In the interwar period the ship went through an extensive rebuilding, during which the superstructure, the masts and the arrangement of the deck armament changed, so her appearance from the 1930s differs markedly from the original state. The year given in the name is therefore not a detail, but determines the particular form the model captures.
First decide whether you will build the model with the full hull or in the waterline form, and prepare the base accordingly. Spray the decks and the hull separately while they are accessible; once the superstructures are fitted you will reach them only with difficulty. Leave the small parts on the fret, paint them there and cut them off only just before gluing. Line the gun barrels up into one plane, as a tilted barrel is visible even in this scale. Railings and other very thin elements are dealt with in 1:700 by photo-etched accessories, which are glued with cyanoacrylate glue after the hull has been painted. At the end, unify the model with a matte clear coat and add a fine wash into the deck joints.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
