Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the American destroyer USS Ward of the Wickes class in her 1941 configuration, from Flyhawk. Models from this brand in this scale are marked out by fine detail, and some editions contain photo-etched, resin or metal parts. The model is intended to be glued and painted.
The USS Ward was an American Wickes class destroyer of the end of the First World War, brought back into service in 1941. She went down in history for attacking a Japanese midget submarine at the entrance to Pearl Harbor in December 1941, before the air strike. She was a slender four-funnel destroyer with gun and torpedo armament.
In 1:700 scale the parts are very small, so work with a sharp knife and tweezers. Consider building the hull to the waterline, or the whole hull on a stand. The fine railings and superstructures show to advantage with photo-etched accessories; use washes and dry highlighting for the patina. Apply the paints with an airbrush over a primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
