A resin wheel set in 1:72 scale intended for building a model of the B-17F/G bomber. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that replaces the wheels from the plastic kit. The tires have a cast seating surface and a compressed sidewall, so the model stands on the ground more faithfully. The letter c and the abbreviation RA distinguish the wheel version; Armory supplies several variants for the Fortress that differ in tread pattern and in the shape of the rim, and it is therefore worth comparing the set with a photograph of the particular machine. Check on the box what exactly the package contains.
The B-17 Flying Fortress is among the best-known bombers of the Second World War. The late F and G versions served in daylight operations over occupied Europe, where their toughness and strong defensive armament proved themselves. Thousands of machines were built in total and the G version became the most numerous. The main landing gear wheels carried the entire weight of the loaded aircraft including the bomb load and the fuel, so the deformation of the tire was clearly apparent on the ground. The type of tire also changed during production according to the supplier.
