A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for a model of the American heavy bomber Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress, listed under the code KW72173.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing B-17G is the most widespread guise of the American four-engine bomber Flying Fortress and is told from the older series by the gun turret under the nose. Machines committed over Europe carried conspicuous squadron insignia on the tail surfaces, bands on the wings and names or paintings on the fuselage, so it is precisely the choice of markings that decides which particular aircraft ends up standing in a display case.
A standalone decal sheet in 1:72 scale, that is, an accessory to a kit. The extent of the sheet, the number of variants and the placement of the individual elements are shown by the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer. In this scale the elements are small, so count on tweezers and good light; small inscriptions will seat into the recesses more easily than large areas.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive form, because soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond recovery, whereas an unsoaked wet decal can be put back into water. With an ordinary wet sheet, separate the elements only just before applying them, not all at once. Immerse an element for a few seconds in lukewarm water, let it rest and slide it off the paper onto the model; you can hold it and bring it into place with a damp brush. The base should be glossy and free of grease. Then store the remainder of the sheet dry and in the dark, otherwise the printing becomes brittle in time.
A decal sheet is supplied. The kit, paints, clear coats and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
