UM 1:72 BT-2 with a 76.2 mm gun — a plastic kit of a little-known variant of the Soviet fast tank in the role of an artillery support vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Soviet fast tank BT-2 in the version of the so-called artillery tank with a 76.2 mm gun, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer UM. While the standard BT-2 is among the frequent subjects, the configuration with a gun of 76.2 mm caliber is a collector's rarity that will certainly not go unnoticed in a collection of Soviet interwar hardware.
The BT-2 of 1932 was the first production representative of the famous line of Soviet fast tanks BT, built on the Christie suspension with the ability to run on wheels and on tracks. It stood out for a speed that was extraordinary for its time, but the price paid for it was thin armor. The concept of an artillery tank — a machine with a more powerful gun for direct fire support — took hold in the BT line above all with the later BT-7A; the configuration with a 76.2 mm weapon on the older BT-2 belongs among the little-known chapters of the development of Soviet armored hardware.
In the small 1:72 scale, give care to the running gear — cleanly assembled wheels and tracks decide the final impression. Before closing the hull up, check the seating of the turret. In color the basis is Soviet 4BO green, which will be livened up by a dark wash in the recesses, a fine dry brush on the edges and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
