This kit in 1:72 scale contains the German heavy flatcar of the Ssys type and the 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun in the Flak 36 version placed on its loading deck. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. This line comes out in several forms, which differ in accessories such as photo-etched parts, a wooden deck or metal wheels; please check the contents of a particular package on the box.
Cars of the Ssys series were among the German four-axle flatcars of high load capacity, used mainly to carry heavy tracked equipment. The 8.8 cm Flak 36 gun was the standard German heavy anti-aircraft gun and, thanks to its high muzzle velocity, it proved itself against ground targets as well. Placing the gun on a railcar allowed both movement and covering fire for a transport, which makes this pair a rewarding subject for railway dioramas.
Build the car and the gun separately and join them only after painting, as otherwise you will get at the loading deck badly. On the chassis of the car, watch that all the wheels sit in one plane; glue the assembly on glass or another flat board. The loading deck deserves the most work: the wood is painted a base brown, then varied with thin glazes and finally accentuated with a dry brush. Cover the metal parts of the car with rust and dust and leave the gun cleaner, so that the two elements do not merge.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
