Kh-29L — a laser-guided air-to-ground missile, 1:72 is a resin armament set from Advanced Modeling. This is not an aircraft model but a heavy underwing weapon to complete a kit with.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a detail accessory, not an airplane kit. It contains the resin guided missile Kh-29L in 1:72 scale, meant to be hung under the wing of a model of a suitable carrier. It differs from the television-guided version of the same family at the front — the laser head has a different ending from an optical window, which is clearly apparent on a model. The resin casting has no longitudinal parting seam and keeps the sharp edges of the control fins. The exact number of pieces is not stated here; the manufacturer's part number is AMC-72235-1.
The Kh-29 is a Soviet tactical guided air-to-ground missile with a heavy warhead, intended against resistant point targets. The version with the L index carries a semi-active laser homing head: the target is illuminated by a laser beam from the ground or from an aircraft and the missile aims at the reflected radiation. The method allows high accuracy, but it requires the illumination of the target to be held for the whole flight of the missile. The typical signs of the family are a short massive body, large lifting surfaces and a cruciform arrangement of the control fins.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the area so that the shape of the body is preserved; when sanding resin, protect your airways. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Painting: primer, a base shade for the body, the guidance head set apart and colored bands according to the documentation. You can imitate the optics of the head with a dark base and a drop of gloss clear. A thin flowing wash will underline the roots of the surfaces and the transitions between sections. Given the weight of the casting, strengthen the joint with the rack with a wire pin.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
