The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains photo-etched metal parts intended to work up the interior parts of a model of the stretched Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The focus on the interior is given directly in the name — the set therefore aims inside the aircraft, unlike the exterior version of the same range. It is not a kit but a detail accessory for a model that you obtain separately.
The C-130J is the latest generation of the four-engine turboprop Hercules; it is told from the older versions above all by its six-blade propellers with composite blades and the modern equipment of the crew cockpit. The designation J-30 belongs to the stretched variant with a longer fuselage. Thanks to the large cargo ramp and the glazing of the cockpit the inside of the Hercules is clearly visible with a suitable composition of the model, so roughly suggested equipment in injection-molded plastic looks distracting there.
Finish and paint the interior before you close the fuselage up — once it is glued you will not reach inside, except for the places accessible through an open ramp. Cut the photo-etched parts off with a scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends on a bending tool or between two razor blades. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Degrease the metal and coat it with a base, otherwise the paint will not hold. It is a good idea to go over the interior surfaces with a weak dark wash once they are painted, so that the small structure stands out; otherwise it is lost in a small scale.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check the match with the model you are building before buying.
