Khaki Grey matches the shade RAL 7008 from the RAL reference, where it is carried under the name Khakigrau. It is a subdued gray-green tone with neither a clear green nor a pure gray, that is, exactly the position into which most of the covering finishes of military vehicles fall. On a model it behaves calmly: it does not shout, it stays in the background and it lets shading, edge highlights and markings come through. The reference to a number in the standard has a practical advantage too, because by it you can compare the shade with the paints of other ranges.
Stir the contents well before use, settled pigment will otherwise shift the resulting tone. Choose thinner and thinning ratio according to the instructions given by the manufacturer on the packaging, that is, the thinner intended for this range. Apply the paint in several thin coats and let them flash off between each other; a single heavy coat floods the engraving and the edges. Try the shade and the behavior of the paint on a scrap piece of plastic rather than straight on the model, and do it with the clear coat that is to go over it later.
It suits builders of vehicles and military accessories who work to a reference and want the shade backed by a number. It also serves well as a base tone for later shading and soiling of the surface.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, clear coat, the model and brushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
