A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the Japanese carrier-borne torpedo bomber Nakajima B5N2, known under its Allied name Kate, focused on the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nakajima B5N2 was a carrier-borne torpedo bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, familiar under the Japanese designation Type 97 and under the Allied code name Kate. These were among the aircraft sent against Pearl Harbor, and their markings are still among the most sought-after subjects of Japanese naval aviation.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale focused on B5N2 machines from the attack on Pearl Harbor. The number of aircraft covered, the units they belonged to and the range of the additional lettering are given in the instruction sheet supplied with the decals. The decals are meant for a finished, painted model, so they widen considerably the options of a kit that usually comes with only one or two color schemes.
Paint the area under the decal first and give it a gloss coat, because on a flat surface a white haze forms under the thin film. Cut the decal out as close to the printed area as possible, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it starts to slide freely on the backing. Carry it to the model together with the paper, hold it in place and pull the paper out from under the decal. Press the water out with a soft brush from the center toward the edges; on rivets and panel lines a decal softener helps. Once dry, give the whole model a flat or semi-gloss coat so that the edges of the film disappear.
The aircraft kit, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
