The real subject

The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey joins the properties of a helicopter and of an airplane: the engine nacelles at the ends of the wing tilt, so that the machine takes off vertically and then passes into horizontal flight. On the ground it stands under its full weight and its landing gear shows it. The wheels are moreover clearly visible on it, because a model is usually built with the landing gear lowered and stands on a base or in a display case.

What the set offers

Wheels with weighted tires replace the parts from a kit in 1:72 scale. The letter a in the name distinguishes the execution within the line, so check before buying which execution you need. How many parts are in the package and which kit the set is intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building tips

• the flattening of the tire belongs on the underside, that is toward the ground
• the parts are not made of polystyrene; cyanoacrylate glue holds the joints
• cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down
• wash and degrease the parts before painting
• mask the wheel rim and the tire and spray them separately; the transition then does not have to be retouched
• try the fit dry, as the pin in the kit tends to be of a different thickness
