This set from Quinta Studio is not a model of the helicopter but a pre-colored accessory for detailing the interior of the Mil Mi-24P Hind attack helicopter from the Zvezda kit in 1:48 scale. It contains 3D-printed and pre-colored details on decal paper for the side panels of the cockpits, the instrument panels and the seat harnesses of both crew positions. The details are pre-printed and ready to use.

What the set is for

3D decals combine classic waterslide decals with color 3D printing. Thanks to the relief, the recessed instrument dials, the prominent panels and the small switches, buttons and warning lights look three-dimensional and faithful; each instrument is usually covered with a glossy layer, so that at a sharp angle it resembles glass. The set lifts the appearance of both cockpits markedly without laborious hand painting.

Use and tips

• 3D decals are thicker than ordinary ones, so release them in warm water and transfer them carefully
• use the recommended water-based glue or an acrylic varnish to fix them
• decal setters are not recommended
• work with a sharp knife and tweezers and take care to seat them exactly in the cockpits
