A sheet of markings for models of the P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in the razorback form in 1:72 scale, the third part of the series devoted to New Guinea.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. The early versions were built in the razorback form, that is with the spine of the fuselage carried back past the cockpit and with a side-opening canopy; only the later machines received the teardrop canopy with a view to the rear. In the Pacific theater the Thunderbolts were used to escort bombers and to attack ground targets.
The sheet brings markings for P-47D models in the razorback form in 1:72 scale, tied thematically to service over New Guinea; this is the third part of the series. Which particular machines the sheet covers and how the markings are laid out on the model is shown in the instructions supplied, in which you will also find color drawings.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version; a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined, whereas an unsoaked wet decal can be soaked later. With an ordinary wet decal, proceed like this:
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model, paints and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise.
