A kit of the American P-51 Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-51 Mustang is among the best known American fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by a V12 piston engine, and with drop tanks it was able to escort bomber formations on long routes over Europe and to stay over the target, which earlier fighters could not reach. The slim fuselage, the laminar flow wing and the radiator under the fuselage made it an airplane that is recognized at first glance. It lasted in service long after the war as well and in many countries was still flying in the 1950s.
The parts of a P-51 Mustang model in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the extent of the contents of the package and the recommended paints are given in the enclosed instructions. The scale of 1:72 is the most widespread one for fighters: a finished model takes up little room on a shelf, and even so there is still space on it for respectable detail.
Proceed according to the instructions and try every part dry before gluing. Finish and paint the cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together. Sand and polish the seams after gluing, because on the smooth surface of an airplane every unevenness shows up during painting. Glue the clear canopy with a cement intended for clear parts, so that it does not cloud over. Lay the paint on in thin coats. If you are building a machine with a bare metal surface, devote more time than usual to preparing the base, as metallic shades forgive nothing.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
