Responsibility details are not available.
A set of two resin figures of Royal Air Force aircrew from the Second World War in gear intended for flight at high altitude, in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Armory. The scene carries its own name, Flight Stories; under the same base number the manufacturer has also released further scenes with a different number of figures. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted and stand about two and a half centimeters tall.
At high altitude RAF airmen had to face both the cold and the thin air, so they wore layered gear: a fur-lined suit and high boots, a leather flying helmet with goggles, an oxygen mask and an inflatable life vest in case they had to bail out over the sea. It is precisely this bulky gear that gives the figures their characteristic silhouette, by which the crew of a bomber or a reconnaissance aircraft can be recognized at a glance.
First wash the resin figures in warm soapy water and get the mold release layer off them. They are glued with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. After the base coat the detail of the gear stands out if you emphasize it with a darker shade in the folds and run a dry brush over the edges. In 1:72 scale work rather sparingly: small contrasts tell more strongly here than on a larger model.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
