This is an accessory set in resin in 1:72 scale, not a kit of an aircraft. Its contents are a replacement nose section that a modeler uses instead of the original nose of a plastic Saab 32 Lansen kit. The designation in the name refers to the test configuration in which the Lansen carried a nose derived from the Viggen type - it is exactly this form of the machine that the set makes it possible to build. A resin casting calls for a different procedure than ordinary injection-molded plastic, so expect cutting, sanding and gluing with cyanoacrylate glue.
The Saab 32 Lansen was a Swedish two-seat jet aircraft with a swept wing, which came about in the 1950s and served in the Swedish Air Force in the attack, fighter and reconnaissance roles. A number of airframes finished their service with test units, where equipment for the coming generation of aircraft was proved on them - an aircraft with a roomy nose and a two-seat cockpit was practical for the role of a flying testbed.
First wash the part in lukewarm water with dish soap - otherwise mold release agent residue will keep the paint from adhering. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw and never break it off. Sand wet rather than dry and with respiratory protection; resin dust is unpleasant. It is attached with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally after repeated dry fitting: the joint between the nose and the fuselage almost always has to be fine-tuned with filler and sanded. Before painting, spray the whole transition with filler primer; it evens out the shade of the resin and the plastic and reveals any remaining grooves.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, filler and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
