The set replaces the lengthy cutting of tape and hand lining of the frames. It is neither a kit nor decals, but an accessory to a model that is bought separately.
The Saunders-Roe A.19 Cloud was a British amphibious flying boat from the first half of the 1930s, a twin-engine high-wing aircraft with a hull in the shape of a boat and with retractable landing gear, which allowed it to operate from water as well as from land. It served in civil transport and for training, among other things for practicing navigation and work with a radio set. The long glazed cabin lined by a row of small windows is typical of the shape of the machine and in building a model represents the most demanding part of the surface finish.
With a flying boat the glazing is drawn out lengthwise and often continues onto the rounded side of the hull, so press the mask down gradually from one end and let the film follow the curve instead of stretching it. Degrease the surface beforehand and do not touch the adhesive side with your fingers. Once stuck on, go over the edges of the masks once more with a piece of wood, mainly in the corners, where the paint most often flows under. Spray perpendicularly and in thin layers; with a long cabin it pays to turn the model while spraying, so that the paint reaches the edges of the frames evenly as well. The hull below the waterline is rewarding for fine shading with this type, but wait with that until the masks are off. Remove them with an angled pull while the paintwork is freshly dry.
