An injection-molded plastic kit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov. The edition focuses on aircraft used in the defense of Malta. The Four Barrels designation refers to the C wing, which made it possible to carry four cannon. A decal sheet with period Malta markings is usually included; the exact number of schemes is not stated here.
The Spitfire Mk.V was one of the most widespread versions of this fighter in the Second World War. The Vc subversion had the universal C wing with the option of a heavier cannon armament. Mk.Vc aircraft, many of them in tropical trim with a dust filter under the engine, played a key role in the grim defense of the island of Malta in 1942.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before closing up the fuselage. A camouflage scheme is typical of the tropical Malta aircraft; an airbrush, a primer and a gloss clear coat under the decals are recommended so that the edges do not silver. Finish by unifying the surface with a matte varnish.
