Swedish Reitars of Charles XII is a set of plastic cavalry figures in 1:72 scale from Strelets.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings figures of Swedish cavalry from the time of the Great Northern War, that is, from the beginning of the 18th century. Reitars were the heavier cavalry, and in this set you will find them in period uniforms and with horses. The figures are meant to be assembled and painted and suit battle dioramas as well as extending a collection.
Under King Charles XII the Swedish army was among the most feared in Europe. The cavalry played a key role in a number of battles of the Great Northern War against Russia, Saxony and Denmark. Reitars attacked in close formation with firearms and cold steel alike, and their vigorous style of fighting was typical of Swedish tactics.
Clean the figures up along the mold seams. With this type of plastic it works well to lay down a base color first and then work the uniforms, straps and horse harness up with a brush. Blue coats with yellow facings are characteristic of the Swedish army; you can bring both riders and horses to life with gentle shading and by picking out the detail.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
