Wooden Floor 1:72 - a printed wooden floor (2 sheets)

Two printed sheets with the texture of a wooden plank floor in 1:72 scale. They serve as the surface finish of a floor in diorama interiors, on platforms, in halls, in barns or on wooden jetties. It is not a kit and not a decal set; the sheet is cut to the shape required and stuck onto a firm base. In the small 1:72 scale a printed floor is often more convincing than an engraved plastic board - the drawing of the grain and the joints is finer than could be cut mechanically at that size.

Use

• First make the base from card or a polystyrene board and stick the sheet only onto a flat, perfectly dry surface.
• Stick it down with thin PVA glue applied in a thin coat over the whole area; spot gluing will create waves.
• Trim the sheet to size only after it has been stuck down, and cut the overhangs off with a sharp knife along the edge.
• Pick out the joints between the planks with a fine pencil or a very weak wash, but try it on an offcut first - the paper is absorbent.
• Suggest wear with a light dusting of pigment where people move and with darker patches against the walls and in the corners.
