This is not a model of the car but an accessory for a modeler who already has the Lamborghini Diablo GT kit in 1:24 scale. The photo-etched set serves to replace the elements that cannot be made thin enough in injection-molded plastic: grilles, meshes and small details of the body and the interior.
The Diablo GT is a lightened version of the Lamborghini Diablo from the late 1990s, built in limited numbers and set apart by pronounced aerodynamics and cooling openings. It is exactly those openings that are the critical place on a model: plastic grilles are several times too thick in scale and give away at first glance that it is a model. Photo-etched metal is by contrast thin in a realistic proportion and holds the illusion when viewed from close up. The set therefore steps in precisely where an ordinary kit has the greatest room for improvement.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface rather than with nippers, otherwise the metal deforms. Make the bends in an etch bender or between two blades, always along the scored line. Degrease the photo-etched parts before painting and use a primer intended for metal, otherwise the paint will flake off. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in a minimal amount, ideally with the tip of a wire; cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Dry-fit the meshes into the openings and trim any overhang only after the glue has cured.
