A small finishing add-on to a model of the T-10 heavy tank in 1:35. The set deals with the glass of the observation devices, that is of the periscopes and the vision blocks in the hatches and in the turret. Neither a kit nor individual hull parts are in the package; the items are seated onto a model that has already been built and painted. It is based on the dimensions of the Meng kit.
This is an add-on where technique counts for more than experience. The item is small and glossy, so every print and every grain of dust stays on it. The proven approach is simple: tweezers with a straight slim tip, a clean degreased seat and calm. Lay the item on dry, check whether it sits into the rim, and only then seat it for good. If it does not hold on its own, a tiny drop of clear glue made for clear parts, which does not fog them, will help. Steer well clear of ordinary cyanoacrylate glue near the glass, as its fumes will make a matte film without fail.
In 1:35 the vision block of a heavy tank is large enough to be handled with tweezers, and at the same time small enough that you spot a mistake at once. That is exactly why the sets are cut to one scale: in 1:72 items of this size could neither be sensibly gripped nor placed, and their visual gain would not outweigh the risk of scratching the clear coat around them.
For the modeler who builds Soviet armor in 1:35 and wants to finish off the detail by which a model is judged; even a less experienced builder will manage it, as long as they set aside some calm for the work.
This is an add-on to a plastic model. The base Meng kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
