Number Five Lacquer Thinner 30 ml

A solvent-based thinner in a 30 ml bottle, intended above all for the clear two-component varnishes from Number Five and for the paints of the same range. It is not a covering paint but an auxiliary product for spraying and for the upkeep of tools.

What it is suited to

With a clear varnish, flow-out is what decides. A mixture that is too thick leaves a texture on a body that you then have to sand out laboriously, whereas a correctly set viscosity levels itself into a smooth mirror. The thinner of the same brand is also the safest choice for flushing an airbrush after a two-component varnish, where residues harden and block the nozzle beyond saving. It serves just as well for washing out a cup and a stirrer, because dried clear varnish will never come off them.

How to use it

• Wash the cup and the stirrer before the residues of varnish close up on them.
• Add small doses to mixed varnish and watch how the spray flows out.
• Flush the airbrush immediately after spraying, not after putting the work aside.
• A mixed batch of varnish cannot be kept, so dose the thinner according to use.
• Keep it in a tightly closed bottle away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Use an offcut of plastic for a test spray, as flow-out is judged on a surface.
