Resin figures in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but a crew for turret hatches that is fitted into a finished model. According to the name the poses are carried out for the turrets of the Pz. III and Pz. IV tanks; with the other types, always try the seating dry.
Execution. The figures wear winter clothing — heavier, layered cloth with deep, softly carried folds and a markedly bulkier outline than a summer uniform has. For a modeler it is the opposite of a thin jacket: fewer small details, but large modeled areas on which every step of the work with light shows. A winter crew also settles the time of year of the whole scene at once, which has to be tuned with the rest of the diorama — with the color of the ground, with the weathering of the vehicle and with the effects on the running gear.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, separate the casting blocks with a saw or a knife and sand the faces down wet with your airways protected. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before gluing the figure into a hatch, try it dry and adjust the lower edge if need be, so that it sits at a natural height.
Painting. Winter cloth is rewarding for drybrushing and for oil paints: after the primer, lay the base shade down, draw the ridges of the folds out with light and work a dark glaze into the recesses. Bulky clothing takes somewhat softer transitions than a thin uniform — sharp contrast looks unnatural here. If the scene contains snow or mud, do not forget to match the lower part of the clothing and the footwear to it as well. Paint the skin separately; a cooler tone of the face and the hands suits a winter scene. At the end even the gloss out with a matte clear coat.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
