A separate resin figure in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but a figure that is added to a built model or to a diorama scene. The casting is supplied unpainted; before it goes in, it faces cleaning, separating from the casting block and painting.
Execution and pose. For a modeler the Waffen-SS marking in the name is a statement about the execution of the clothing and the equipment — it sets the cut and above all the fact that a camouflage pattern often comes into play on these figures. That is purely a painting task, and it decides the overall impression of the figure more than any detail of the casting. The pose follows from the name: the figure is preparing ammunition, that is it is carried in a slight forward lean with the arms by the body, as though it were working over an open crate or over rounds set down on the ground. The No. 1 marking tells this pose apart from the other variants of the same subject.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap — mold release agent on the surface is the most common cause of paint peeling off. Separate the casting block with a fine saw or a knife; do not break it off. Sand the mold seam lines down wet with your airways protected. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not work here.
A camouflage pattern step by step. After the primer, lay the base tone of the cloth down, then apply the patches from the darkest to the lightest and keep them in scale — in 1:35 the pattern has to be markedly finer than one you would paint on a large area. Leave the edges of the patches soft; on larger areas stippling with a fine brush helps. Only over the finished pattern do you handle shadow and light: a thin dark glaze into the folds and careful lightening of the edges. Build the skin separately. At the end knock the gloss down with a matte clear coat, so that the figure evens out with the surface of the vehicle model.
