This item from the brand Very Fire is a detail set for a model of the battleship USS Missouri in 1:350 scale. It is not a kit of the ship — the set serves to equip a model you already have. It is cut for the Missouri kit in 1:350 scale from the same maker, so the parts match its dimensions and breakdown. Check the particular contents of the package on the box of the set.
The USS Missouri, with the hull designation BB-63, is an American battleship of the Iowa class. The ships of this class belong to the largest and best known surface vessels of the US Navy, and their main armament was made up of three turrets with 16-inch guns. The Missouri has been preserved as a museum ship, so the documentation for modelers is rich — and it is with a real subject like that that a detail set pays off the most, because the difference from the parts out of the basic box is clearly visible even in a photograph of a finished model.
Sets of this kind are fitted step by step and it is essential to lay the build out in advance: parts that end up under superstructures or under decks have to come up before the structure is closed. Try everything dry. Fine parts are best painted before they are seated, on a stand or on double-sided tape. Glue thin elements, such as railings or ladders, right at the very end and with only a minimum of cyanoacrylate glue, so that white marks do not appear. At the end a very fine dark wash into the vertical edges and sparing highlighting of the deck areas will help.
It is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
