1:35 US wood ammo boxes for an 81 mm mortar (12 pcs) is a resin set of twelve American wooden mortar ammunition boxes. An accessory for dioramas and vehicle models, not a kit of a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin set from PANZER ART holds, according to its name, twelve American wooden ammunition boxes for an 81 mm mortar in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit, but an accessory that will fill the bed of a vehicle, a firing position or a supply scene in a diorama. Twelve pieces give enough material both to stack the boxes in piles and to place them singly.
The 81 mm medium mortar was among the basic support weapons of American units during the Second World War. Its ammunition was carried to it in wooden boxes, which piled up at firing positions, on vehicle beds and in supply depots. Boxes of this kind are a rewarding feature in a diorama: they create a comparison of scale, fill empty faces and hint at what is going on in the scene.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the remains of the release agent are gone. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the mating surfaces by sanding wet with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the wood in layers: a light base, thin glazes drawn along the grain, a dark wash in the gaps and a dry brush on the edges. Do not paint all the boxes the same; small deviations of shade and different degrees of wear read more faithfully than a uniform row. Add dust and mud mainly at the lower edges and in the places where the boxes rest on the ground.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as resin castings. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
