It is important to know that the package contains the trailer alone, not the tractor, so it is an accessory to a model of a tractor unit that you buy separately. That is exactly the point of it, because the same tractor looks different with every trailer, and in 1:25 scale a complete rig makes a very impressive whole. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
American long-haul rigs of the so-called big rig category consist of a tractor with a long hood and a semi-trailer, joined by a fifth wheel coupling above the rear axle of the tractor. Trailers differ according to the goods carried, from closed box types through refrigerated ones to flatbeds and tankers. A closed trailer has an aluminum or composite box carried on a ribbed structure, two-leaf rear doors, support legs for parking without a tractor and a two or three-axle running gear. Paint the running gear and the axles separately and weather them at the end with a dark wash and dust pigment, because on trucks it is the underside that gets dirtiest.
