A collector's resin bust from the original production of Alternity Miniatures. With busts the 1:10 scale is the standard: the figure is shown only down to the chest or the waist, but in a size that allows the face, the hair and the structure of the clothing to be worked out to a detail unattainable in the small scales. A bust is neither a kit nor an accessory for a model, it is an exhibition piece of its own.
Do not expect a whole figure. The appeal of a bust rests on the expression and on the craft of the painting, not on the number of parts. The casting is supplied unpainted and divided into parts in such a way that they are easy to paint separately, typically the head apart from the body. The exact division of the casting and the dimensions are not stated here, so check them once the package is open.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly, as otherwise the paint will not hold on the remains of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks away with a saw, level the surfaces with a file and fine abrasive paper; sand resin wet and with protection of your breathing. Glue the joints with super glue, fill and sand over the transition between the head and the torso, so that the collar or the hairline is not lost in the seam. We recommend dividing the painting: paint the head, the body and the accessories separately and join them only at the end. In 1:10 scale glazes and soft transitions pay off, as the face has enough room for smooth shading of the eye sockets, the cheekbones and the lips. Do the eyes, the eyebrows and the beard with a thin brush and under good light. Support the difference between skin, cloth and metal with the sheen as well, not only with the shade.
The bust is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
