Responsibility details are not available.
A collector's scale model of a particular work of the Czechoslovak border fortifications, worked up from the original drawings by a Czech manufacturer specializing in models of fortifications. In 1:1000 scale it captures the characteristic mass and shaping of the real casemate and suits a display cabinet as well as a diorama with a fortified line.
The K-Bg-S 11 Na svahu was an artillery casemate of the Hurka artillery fortress (Berghöhe) in the Mladkov-Kraliky fortification sector. It was the largest type of work in the Czechoslovak fortifications; the concreting took place in the autumn of 1937. Its main armament was to be three 10 cm howitzers, which in 1938 were replaced as a stopgap by mountain guns. The fighting crew of this extensive casemate, with an above-ground and an underground part, was to be several dozen soldiers.
The model comes into its own on a base imitating the terrain of the slope into which the work was set. For a faithful concrete look, gray shades complemented by a fine wash into the joints and drybrushing on the edges work well; surrounding greenery and camouflage complete the atmosphere of the border line.
This is a scale model of a particular work; the condition on delivery and the surface finish can differ from piece to piece.
