A kit in injection-molded plastic in 1:25 scale from the American brand AMT. The real subject is the Chevrolet Corvette of the 1968 model year in custom form, that is, with bodywork changes compared with the production car. Check the particular extent of the modifications, the exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the list of decals on the box.
The year 1968 is a turning point for the Corvette: the third generation arrives, with a long front hood, boldly shaped fenders and removable roof sections. The new body came out of the studies of the end of the 1960s and to this day is among the most recognizable American shapes of all. That is exactly why it became a popular basis for custom conversions - the bumpers, wheels, exhausts and intake were reworked and the car was often built in extravagant finishes.
A custom build lives or dies by the finish, so give the body time: sand it, filler primer, check it against the light and only then the paint in thin coats. Stir metallic paints thoroughly before spraying, as the pigment settles to the bottom, and apply them only on a smooth surface. Fine-tune the gloss with a clear coat, and only then come the decals with a decal softener. Build the interior and the engine separately and dry-fit whether the body will seat once glued - with a Corvette with a split roof that goes double.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
