The A-4 Skyhawk is a small carrier-borne attack aircraft with a wing of triangular planform and a strikingly short landing gear, which was built in a long line of versions. The E and F renditions belong among the later ones, and the recognition feature of the F version is the dorsal equipment fairing behind the cockpit. On deck and at an airfield the open air intakes and the exhaust nozzle are covered so that nothing gets into them, and it is precisely these covers that give a standing aircraft its typical look.
The set is meant for A-4E/F kits in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter and according to the name it is rendition D.
The parts are not of polystyrene; they are glued with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little distance from the part and sand the rest down so that the cover seats with no gap. Wash and degrease everything before painting. Covers of this kind tend to be markedly colorful on a real aircraft so that nobody overlooks them, so a saturated shade is not overdone here. Try them dry before the model is painted and do not glue them permanently before the surrounding surface is finished.
The set belongs to modelers who want to display a Skyhawk parked on deck or on the flight line. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
