An injection-molded plastic kit of the supersport motorcycle Yamaha YZF-R1M in 1:12 scale from the Japanese firm Tamiya. The model faithfully captures the top track version of the R1 with a richly detailed engine and synthetic tires with a realistic tread. Key assemblies such as the engine, the swingarm, the front fork and the upper fairing are fixed to the frame with screws for maximum accuracy and strength. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The YZF-R1M is the exclusive, race-tuned variant of the legendary supersport Yamaha R1. Its design and electronics draw heavily on what was learned on the YZR-M1 prototype from the MotoGP world championship. Both the R1 and the R1M made their mark in circuit championships including the Superbike World Championship and are among the sharpest production machines with an inline four. The model matches the modern configuration of this motorcycle.
Glue the detailed engine and frame with liquid cement for plastic and paint the individual assemblies separately before putting them together. A gloss coat and polishing suit the deep gloss of the fairing, while the carbon fiber and metal items can be picked out with metallic paints and a dark wash. Apply the sponsor decals to a smooth base and seal them with a matte coat, depending on the look you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
