An easy-to-build plastic kit of the destroyer USS Harry W. Hill (DD-986) in the small collector's scale of 1:1250 from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The kit has a low part count, offers the choice of a full hull or a waterline version and comes with a display stand. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Harry W. Hill belongs to the American Spruance class of destroyers. These gas turbine powered vessels concentrated above all on anti-submarine warfare and on escorting US Navy task forces. The hull of the Spruance class became the basis for the later guided missile cruisers as well. The ship served from the beginning of the 1980s.
In such a small scale a clean coat and fine accenting of the deck detail come out best. Assemble the hull, sand the parting joint over and spray the base gray with an airbrush in thin coats. Pick out the superstructure with a brush, a fine wash will bring out the shadows and a light dry brush will pull out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
