An easy-to-build plastic kit of the guided missile cruiser USS Ticonderoga (CG-47) in the small collector's scale of 1:1250 from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. A low part count, the option of a full hull or a waterline version and an enclosed display stand make the model a quick build. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Ticonderoga was the lead ship of the class of guided missile cruisers of the same name in the US Navy. The hull was based on the Spruance class destroyers, and the ship was the first US Navy combatant to carry the Aegis combat system with a powerful radar and multirole missile armament. She entered service in 1983.
In such a small scale a clean coat and fine accenting of the deck detail come out best. We recommend assembling the hull, sanding the parting joint over and spraying the base gray with an airbrush. Set the decks off in a darker shade, and the small details can be handled with a brush. A fine wash will bring out the superstructure and a light dry brush will pull out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
