A set of replacement engine exhaust nozzles for a model of the Dassault Rafale fighter in 1:48 scale, intended for the Hobby Boss kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dassault Rafale is a French multirole combat aircraft with a pair of engines and with a characteristic combination of a delta wing and front horizontal surfaces. It is precisely the rear end with its two exhaust nozzles that everyone notices first on a finished model. In a kit the nozzles tend to be split into two halves, so once glued a visible joint stays inside the cone and the walls look too thick.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles from the kit with parts whose inside is finer and deeper. It is prepared for a model in 1:48 scale and according to the name it is intended for the Hobby Boss kit. With a different kit expect to have to adjust the diameter or the depth of the seating.
Seat the nozzles only after a dry fit, which tells you how much material has to be taken off the end of the fuselage. Cut the excess material and the traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and use a primer coat so that the paint holds. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and the manufacturer's instructions. The inside of a nozzle is usually darkened to bring out its depth, and the outer ring is finished in metallic shades with a hint of heat discoloration.
It suits builders who want to finish a model with a true rear end and do not mind a small amount of work on the fuselage. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
