Dual Exo 5B Dirty Red, acrylic paint, 60 ml

An AK interactive acrylic paint from the Dual Exo line. The shade carries the name Dirty Red, that is a more muted red tone, and its finish is satin. There is 60 ml in the bottle.

A base under weathering and shading

A semi-gloss coat is a practical surface for further work. A wash runs into the engraved lines better on a smoother surface and does not sit on the flat as a stain, a decal lays down without a silvery halo, and dry brushing on satin brings out the edges more legibly than on a deeply flat surface. The sequence of steps that proves itself is: paint, curing, decals, wash and effects, and only at the end a unifying clear coat depending on whether the model is to stay semi-gloss or to be knocked back. It is always sensible to try the procedure on an offcut of sprue before starting on the model.

Use

• Mix the paint thoroughly before use.
• Apply in thin coats with a brush or an airbrush.
• Let the coat cure completely before weathering.
• Try the procedure on an offcut first, not straight on the model.
• Choose the final clear coat according to the sheen the finished model is to have.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who follow a color coat with decals, washes and effects and want a surface for it that works well with weathering. A volume of 60 ml is enough even for a larger build.
