A Model Scene mat from the range of terrain surfaces, this time with the motif of the San Pedro desert. It is not a kit or an object of a scene in its own right but a material to be applied: the surface is already finished on a carrier layer and the modeler cuts it to the shape of the base and glues it on. That deals with the most laborious part of a dry scene, the texture and the coloring of bare ground with sparse growth.
Dry terrain must not be a uniform sand-colored area. It only becomes believable once lighter and darker patches and coarser and finer grain alternate in it and only a modest, dried-up growth appears between the bare places. It is exactly this combination that the mat brings ready made, so a modeler does not have to layer several kinds of scatter material and color filters one after another.
For builders of dioramas and vignettes with dry terrain, for figure painters and tabletop gamers, and for modelers finishing a display base under a piece of equipment or a figure.
This is a scenic material, not a kit. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
