Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas DC-9 is an airliner for short and medium routes that caught attention with the arrangement of its power plant: it carries two turbofan engines on the sides of the rear part of the fuselage and has the horizontal tail surface set at the top of the fin in the shape of the letter T. The wing is set low above the ground. Compared with the first versions, Series 30 is lengthened and received more effective high-lift devices on the wing, so it took more passengers without losing the ability to work from shorter runways as well.
A model of the DC-9-30 in 1:144 scale to build and paint, prepared in one particular color rendition. 1:144 scale is the most widespread one with airliners, so the finished machine fits in among the other types in a collection and does not take up a whole shelf at that.
Models of airliners stand and fall with a smooth surface. Fill the joints of the fuselage carefully and sand them down with progressively finer grits, because every unevenness stands out under light and glossy coats. Before painting, wash the surface, degrease it and apply a base color, which reliably shows the places to sand down further. The decals belong only onto a gloss base, otherwise matte edges will appear under them; once they have dried, go over them with varnish.
It fits collectors of airliners and modelers who want to have several types next to each other in a uniform scale. The paints, the glue and the filler are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
