A model of the cargo rendition of the Douglas DC-9-33CF airliner in 1:144 scale to build and paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas DC-9 belonged among the most successful airliners for shorter routes. You recognize it by the two turbofan engines on the sides of the rear part of the fuselage, the tail surfaces arranged in the shape of the letter T and the low-set wing. The letters CF in the designation refer to the cargo rendition derived from the version for passengers: the cargo is carried on the main deck and loaded through a large cargo door in the front part of the fuselage.
A model of the DC-9-33CF in 1:144 scale to build and paint, in the color rendition designated as SAS Cargo, with the registration SE-DBN. Cargo machines tend to be in the minority in collections of airliners, so beside the ordinary scheduled renditions the finished model stands out pleasantly.
Glue the fuselage together and fill the joints before you set about the paint; lead the sanding along the fuselage, not across it, so that visible scratches are not left after it. A primer will reveal the places that still want sanding down. It pays to accentuate the cargo door and its outline only at the close, with a thin line of a darker shade. Apply the decals onto a gloss base and go over them with varnish once they have dried, so that the edges do not shine.
Suitable for collectors of airliners and for modelers who enjoy less usual cargo renditions. In a display case the finished machine goes well with aircraft of the same scale from other marques. The paints, the glue and the filler are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
