The boxing covers three configurations at once: the early F.X fighter version, the FB.11 fighter-bomber and the export F.50. The manufacturer is the Czech company Mark I Models, which specializes in the small scale. Check the package contents and the number of schemes offered on the box.
The Sea Fury grew out of the land-based line of Hawker fighters and became the last piston-engine fighter of the Fleet Air Arm. The F.X version was the first production configuration, purely a fighter, while the FB.11 that followed gained the ability to carry external stores and became the most widespread variant. The designation F.50 belonged to machines delivered abroad, specifically to Dutch naval aviation. All the versions shared the massive Bristol Centaurus radial engine and a propeller with a large number of blades, which transmitted its power at a small diameter.
The early camouflage schemes of the Fleet Air Arm are built on a combination of a dark upper surface and a light lower one with a fairly hard transition, which masks well with tape at this scale. Decals are the most delicate step of the whole build in 1:144, because the roundels and the serial numbers really are tiny. It pays to work with a damp brush and a wooden stick instead of tweezers, to slide the decal into place and never to lift it dry. Use both a decal softener and a decal fixer and let them act without interference, and pierce any air bubbles with a needle and repeat the decal fixer. Make the decision about which version you are building in advance, because the external stores and the details of the airframe differ.
