Armory 1:144 wheels for the Harrier GR.1/GR.3/FRS.1/AV-8A with sagging tires are a resin replacement for the wheels of the first generation of this vertical takeoff aircraft. A cast contact patch gives the model a stance under load.

The set from Armory replaces the plastic wheels on models of the first generation Harrier in 1:144, that is on the GR.1, GR.3, FRS.1 and AV-8A versions. The resin castings carry a finer tread and sidewall pattern than is attainable on small injection-molded parts, and the tires have sag cast in. That makes the finished model look as though the weight of the aircraft rests on the gear. This is an add-on to a kit, not a model of the aircraft itself.
The first generation Harrier is a British combat aircraft with vertical and short takeoff, whose powerplant with vectored nozzles allowed it to operate away from classic concrete runways. The GR.1 and GR.3 versions served in ground support, the FRS.1 in naval use, and the AV-8A was the American counterpart. The landing gear layout with main wheels on the fuselage centerline and outrigger wheels at the wingtips is characteristic of the type and is clearly visible on a model, so working on its detail pays off.
The parts are small in this scale, so work with tweezers over a light surface. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw, level the cut with sandpaper and try the contact patch against a flat board. On the Harrier also check that the model settles onto the main and the outrigger wheels at the same time, or it will sit visibly tilted. Wash the castings in warm water with dish soap before painting and let them dry. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tire dark gray and flatten it down; finish the hub with a brush. Hint at service grime sparingly with pigment; dust is right at home on machines operated from improvised surfaces. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
This is an add-on to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
