AML JB-2 Loon (V-1) with transport trailer - the American copy of the German flying bomb with a transport trailer in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Few people know that the Americans copied the famous German V-1 missile as well. This 1:144 model of the JB-2 Loon from the Czech brand AML recalls that curiosity, and thanks to the transport trailer enclosed with it, it makes a ready-made subject for a small scene.
The JB-2 came about by reverse engineering from the wreckage of German missiles brought to the United States in 1944. Republic and Ford took on the production, and the command reckoned with using it on a large scale in the planned invasion of Japan; the end of the war stopped the program before it saw combat use. The naval version tested under the name Loon then even launched from the decks of submarines during postwar trials and helped lay the foundations of the American rocket program.
A miniature model rewards careful preparation: dry-fit the parts before gluing, polish the seams and bring the uniform finish to life with fine panel shading. An interesting contrast with the German original is the typically American marking - the two versions side by side make an appealing comparative display.
In the box you will find unpainted parts to be glued together; the manufacturer does not enclose paints or glue.
