Landing flaps for the Lockheed C-130 in 1:144 scale are an accessory set that replaces the molded trailing edge of the wing and puts a model into landing configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory that is built into a model. The set replaces part of the trailing edge of the wing and offers the flaps in the extended position. With a transport aircraft that makes doubly good sense, as the Hercules is photographed with the flaps fully out practically every time, because short take-off and landing is precisely its main discipline. A model in landing configuration therefore looks more faithful than a machine with a smoothly molded wing.
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop transport aircraft with a high-mounted wing and a cargo ramp at the rear. It was created to carry cargo and paratroops to short and unpaved runways, which the extensive high-lift devices of the wing match, as the Fowler flaps extend rearward and at the same time increase the area of the wing. The type has served in a number of countries for decades and has gone through many development versions.
Here filling the joint is the key thing. The wing of the Hercules is fairly thin on the model and the cut runs close to the upper surface, so after the part is glued in a transition arises that is pronounced when seen from the side. Apply putty in thin coats, let it dry through properly and sand gradually through several grits up to polishing; a coarse transition will not disappear under matte green-gray paint but will stand out instead. Before spraying, go over the whole joint with a primer and check it against the light while a repair is still cheap.
