Wooden strips of the dark wood manzonia, section 2 x 2 mm, length 1000 mm, ten pieces in the pack. A material for building wooden ship models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The pack holds ten strips of the dark wood listed under the name manzonia. Each strip has a square section of 2 x 2 mm and a length of 1000 mm, so there are ten meters of material in the pack altogether. The dark tone of the wood is used where a feature is to be clearly set apart on a pale hull or deck.
Strips of this section belong to the building of wooden ship models. They come into their own as filling and load-bearing features of a frame, as deck edging, railing posts, supports and cross-pieces, or as material for small deck fittings. The square section makes it easier to glue them together into larger assemblies, so gratings and simple frames can be built up from the strips as well.
Cut a strip with a sharp blade or a fine saw over a support, so that the end does not fray, and then level the cut with abrasive paper. It is bonded with wood glue; on joints that have to hold at once, super glue will serve. Before bending into a curve, moisten the wood and shape it gradually; dry and quickly, a strip will break. Dark wood is often left in its natural shade and protected only with clear varnish; before varnishing, sand the surface with fine paper and remove the dust.
Glue, varnishes and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The shade and grain of the wood differ from piece to piece; it is a natural material.
