This is an accessory, not a kit of the weapon. The set brings 5 cm caliber ammunition for the German Pak 38 antitank gun in 1:16 scale. It serves to add to a model of the gun, to fill ammunition crates and to build dioramas, where a round is a clearly visible detail in itself.
The 5 cm Pak 38 was a German towed antitank gun of 5 cm caliber used in the Second World War. Its ammunition took the form of fixed rounds with a cartridge case, that is the type of ammunition that works well on models, either stood beside the carriage or arranged in an open crate by the crew.
Scale 1:16 is unusually large, so the parts are easy to hold and offer room for careful work. That is exactly why they deserve more than one color: a metal cartridge case and a projectile commonly differ in shade, so it pays to separate them by masking or with a brush. For the brass look of a case, use a metallic paint mixed thoroughly before application, as its pigment sinks to the bottom. A light dark wash brings out the transition between case and projectile. Glue down rounds laid loose in a scene, so that they do not shift about in the diorama.
The set is an accessory, not a model of the weapon. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
